by: Jared McCaleb, CKM Speaker

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Jared McCaleb, and I recently joined the Speaking Team with Clayton King Ministries.  I gave my life to Christ when I was 9 years old, and it was in Jr. High that I started to see God’s hand on my life.  He called me into the ministry when I was 17, just before the beginning of my senior year in high school.  I currently live in Spring, TX, 35 miles north of Houston.  I am married to the love of my life Shelby, and we have two kids, daughter Lucy (3 years old), and son Hays (1 year old).  We serve on staff at The Woodlands First Baptist Church where I lead our second location as Campus Pastor.

My wife and I are passionate about orphan care, and ministry to the “least of these.”  We absolutely love serving God in any capacity and we look forward to serving you in any capacity in the future.

God has been teaching me a lot lately about leadership, so I wanted to encourage all of you today.

I think one of the best things that we have in our favor are the relationships that we OWN.  One thing I want to challenge each of you with, including myself, is to be present in every moment of our lives, RELATIONALLY!  Can you imagine what it would be like if we took every relationship that we OWN seriously?  Our goal, and more importantly, our calling, is to reach people far from God.

Dan Cathy, son of the late Truett Cathy (founder of God’s chosen chicken outfitter – Chik-Fil-A), recently wrote these words:

“During a recent conversation about goals and dreams and “what’s next,” I heard someone say, “You know, no one washes a rental car. You have to own it to care that much…”

What does that look like for you in your life, right where you are?

What will you do to go the extra mile to serve those relationships that you are currently invested in?

The temptation is to buy in to the idea that today is only temporary, but I want to caution you not to.  Don’t be complacent to the point where you just muddle around and bypass all of the opportunities to invest in the people around you.  The truth is that the people that God has placed around you need you, and you need them.

Today, I’d like to encourage you to take OWNERSHIP this week. Believe that today is the beginning of something unique and special, and more importantly, YOURS… Something you can invest in, take pride in and share with others.

I look forward to the day that I can meet you face to face. How can I be praying for you today?

Have a great week. After all, you OWN IT.
