A 2016 Outlook

How we're taking our vision to Preach the Gospel and Make Disciples to a whole new level.

If you’ve been a part of our ministry for the past 20 years, you’ve seen how God continues to show up in powerful ways as we see countless individuals impacted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through various events, outreach opportunities, mentoring programs, and speakers who travel across the country.  

We have so many unique stories about miraculous ways the Lord has worked through our ministry, but today, I want to focus on the future and share a 2016 outlook.



In 2016, we'll be launching a new brand for our Missions Department, Multiply Global.

The reality is that we have been focused on international trips for many years. And we recognize that our previous manta, "Go with Crossroads," inevitably creates an expectation for people to go on a mission trip. We still believe there is so much work to do all over the world, the Holy Spirit has been moving in our hearts with a desire to broaden this reach. We also want to teach and equip believers to live missionally right where they are. We want you to know that going on an international mission trip may not necessarily be your next step. 

We are shifting from just mission trips to an all encompassing outreach program. 

Multiply Global is deeply rooted in the The Great Commission.

In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. He's telling us to go and multiply believers, multiply disciples. 

Our desire is that of a relationship:  partnership that results in positive change - eagerness to be salt and light right where you live. 

Multiply Global gives us an opportunity to serve The Kingdom in three major ways:

  • Overseas (International) trips
  • Domestic (Stateside) Trips
  • Resources to equip believers to live missionally where they are 

International Trips

We’ve developed sustainable partnerships with international ministries that we expect to last for years.  We want to stand alongside our partners for many years knowing the work we are doing is helping and not hurting their long-term efforts.  

Domestic Trips

We are creating more and more local ministry opportunities for the church to serve within national borders. Just like our international partners, we believe there are local ministries that need our support. We are excited to connect churches with these partners to create a movement within communities that result in life change through the Gospel. 


We are also creating resources for individuals, families and the local church to ensure outreach efforts are fruitful, effective, and fun! This might look like materials to support a mission trip participant in fund-raising, planning, expectations for the trip and soul care after the trip. Or perhaps a devotional to prepare a youth group to take on a local soup kitchen or build a house. We're in the process of building this library, and believe it will be invaluable to you.



We frequently get calls, emails, and face-to-face requests for resources to equip and serve the local church.  You’ve spoken, and we’ve listened!  

We'll be rolling out audio and digital resources so that you can access the ministry any time, any where. You'll get access to conversations on hot topics like pornography and burn out in the church. We'll also unpack The Word with key Christian leaders like Brian Burgess, Carl & Heather Cartee, Sharie King, and more. I personally haven’t been more excited for a ministry resource in years!  

In 2016, the CKM website will also become a vital resource for the local church.  You will find:

  • Discipleship Resources (Responding to a Call to Ministry, How to Spend Daily Time in the Word, Spiritual Disciplines, How to Lead Someone to Christ, etc.)

  • Curriculum Resources (Discussion Questions and Small Group Outlines for Clayton King Book Studies, eBooks for your small group, 4-6 Week Outlines for Pastors, Youth Pastors, and other Ministry Leaders, etc.)

  • Leadership Resources (Leading a Volunteer Team, Managing Marriage & Ministry, Creating a Positive Culture, Effectiveness over Efficiency, etc.)

  • Outreach and Evangelism Resources (Trip Preparation, Outreach Devotionals, etc.)



Traditional, Custom, and Go Week!

When I started at CKM in 2006, we were doing four weeks of camp. I’m so grateful for the way people have supported this ministry through prayer and generous donations to allow us to open up a fifth week of camp and then a sixth week of camp! In 2016, we will be serving the local church for 7 weeks of the summer!  

It’s amazing to see how the Lord is working through our Summer Camp Ministry. The 2016 line up is outlined below:

  • Week 1 - Custom Week with Biltmore Baptist Church

  • Week 2 - Traditional Week

  • Week 3 - Traditional Week

  • Week 4 - GO WEEK

  • Week 5 - Traditional Week

  • Week 6 - Traditional Week

  • Week 7 - Custom Week with The Summit Church

Be praying for our ministry team as we hope to see over 4500 participants this summer!  



Our giving campaign this year is called Imagine More.  If you read my reflection on 2015, I shared my life verse, Ephesians 3:20-21:

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

These new and exciting endeavors continue to happen year after year only because God continues to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine.  Clayton always reminds our team that we don’t ask people to give because we are struggling financially.  We ask because together we can do MORE for the Kingdom.  

As the “money” guy around here, I can assure that we go through the most rigorous financial reviews and are held accountable by the ECFA and our Board of Directors for all financial decisions.  We take time to celebrate the resources that God has given us and plan to use them with the utmost responsibility to see the Gospel Preached and Disciples Made.  

We have BIG goals for 2016 and so we are asking you to GIVE BIG as well.  When we sat together as a team, we considered what the immeasurably more that we could ask or imagine would be for our team, and the number we started praying for was $100,000.  We believe this can happen! 

Maybe you’ve gotten to the bottom of this post and already told yourself that there’s no way you can give to any other ministry other than your church tithe in this season of your life.  We understand.  However, would you consider personally inviting someone who can give to consider this unique opportunity?  

Imagine if…

...there was a donor who could write a check for $100,000 today and meet this goal?  You could be the one who they need to hear from today to make that happen!

.... just half of our facebook followers gave $35?  We would exceed our $100,000 goal!

...each person that was impacted by the ministry from last summer asked for family and friends to give a small gift back to CKM in their honor for Christmas this year?
