JOSH GARDNER

GOSPEL SHARING - MISSIONS - SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION

Josh is consumed with the idea that the news of the gospel demands our urgent devotion. He's passionate about the next generation and believes they are the key to seeing Jesus proclaimed until there is no place that hasn't heard of Jesus Christ. The majority of his twenty-two years in ministry have been spent investing in young people. Josh graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies from Liberty University and is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree. During his college years, he helped lead a city-wide movement called "50 Days of Unbroken Prayer" and he also spearheaded a collaborative church-planting effort in the Middle East that is still multiplying to this day.  As a former inner-city missionary, student trainer, youth volunteer, youth pastor, gospel-conversation trainer, and discipleship director, he now wants to use those experiences to minister to students and church leaders through speaking.

Josh, his wife Che, and their three really cute children live in Anderson, SC where he serves full-time at Clayton King Ministries. Josh serves as a resource creator, recruiter, trainer, and now speaker! He is also the founding pastor of 1:8 Community Church, an exciting new church plant that is laser-focused on making Jesus known among the least engaged peoples of the city.

Josh is a dynamic, powerful, breath of fresh air to the local church and youth ministry. They take the foundational principles of faith and turn them from complicated and boring into understandable and fun for students of any age. One of the biggest areas we mess up in youth ministry today is our drive to put on “good events” but never to mobilize students and send them out to accomplish the Great Commission in Matthew 28. Josh and his team have helped our church move from an “event” mindset to a commission mindset and put our church and students on mission to not only come to church, but to be the church. I promise, your ministry and church will benefit from a partnership with him.

I’d love to (strongly) encourage you to bring Josh Gardner to speak at your event. There are several reasons:
First, he’s a close personal friend and brother that I admire for his commitment to Jesus. Next, he’s a committed husband and daddy. His kids adore him because of how he loves them and their mom. Speaking of her, Josh loves and serves his wife faithfully and tenderly. I respect that more than any ministry experience. Finally, he also has ministry experience - but more than that, he has a true passion for the gospel and for people. Sharing his faith with people is like breathing to him, it’s second nature. He’s a seasoned communicator. He’s engaging, gospel-focused, Bible-driven, funny, and down to earth. Also, he’s just a great guy to be around. He has a bright disposition and is one of the greatest encouragers in my life. I trust Josh as a man, as a preacher, and as a Bible teacher. I believe you’ll love having him at your church, outreach, or event.
