DISCIPLESHIP - EVANGELISM - FAITH IN ACTION
Brian Burgess was saved at the age of 14 and surrendered to ministry at 16. He now travels and teaches at churches, schools, summer camps and colleges all over the United States.
Brian has an intriguing story of Christ transforming him from a rebellious teenager into a man who is passionate about God. He clearly communicates the timeless principles of God’s Word with effective zeal and enthusiasm.
Brian is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University with a B.A. in Religious Studies and a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Studies.
He and his wife, Angie, have three boys and a girl. They enjoy working out, camping, traveling the world, and riding motorcycles.
A WORD FROM clAYTON
Brian has been my best and most consistent friend since we were in elementary school. We were saved in the same church and called to preach under the same pastor. We both attended Gardner-Webb, but Brian went on to complete his MDiv and is now working on his DMin. Brian is an evangelist. He knows how to clearly communicate the gospel (without any manipulation or tricks). He also knows how to teach Christians what the gospel is and how we live it out, share it, and carry it to our community and our world. Brian is a genius... one conversation with him makes one's head spin. However, when he preaches, his southern charm and warm personality disarms the audience. He is very authentic, sharing personal doubts and struggles as he preaches. He is also a faithful husband and father of 4. He has a great reputation in our region, and is booked up 6-8 months in advance at churches and colleges. He is a man of character... we have literally traveled the world together and he lives out what he preaches.
He is down to earth, hilarious, and real. And the man can flat out teach the scripture and preach the gospel. He has served as a youth pastor and evangelism pastor, and has also been a main stage speaker at our Crossroads events for the past 17 years.
I hope this helps. He knows the rules, he comes to serve, he is not a rock star, he is not demanding, he pays attention to the culture he is preaching to, and he won't do or say silly or stupid things that you have to clean up when he leaves. He is both a great man of God and amazing communicator.
